Mass which increases without the addition of material. Since the Law of the Conservation of Mass states that matter cannot be created or destroyed, such an increase could be only be accounted for through a conversion of energy into matter, although a small amount of matter would require an enormous amount of energy. Well known examples of material expansion include the story of Jesus who fed 5,000 people by continuously dividing the same 5 loaves of bread and 2 fish and, possibly, the Hanukkah miracle in which a one night portion of lamp oil expanded to burn for eight nights.
Mu: Musical Phenomenon
This phenomenon has multiple aspects:
- The sound of music from an unidentifiable source, usually near but sometimes farther away from the listener. The music may appear to be played by a single instrument or an entire band. Usually the songs are not contemporary, supporting the claim the sound is not electronically produced, i.e. coming from a modern radio station.
- A separate musical phenomenon involves an investigator who plays music relating to the era when a location was occupied which then produces heightened, observed paranormal activity (e.g era cues).
- Another aspect of this phenomenon is the occurrence of a song (with established ties to a deceased person) which plays on a radio in a synchronistic manner in relation to other events.
Mr: Mirror, Reflection Anomaly
A figure, face, or body part visible in a reflective surface such as a mirror, shiny metal, glass or water, which is not present in the room at the time. Often associated with skrying and crystallomancy, as well as folktales such as Bloody Mary.
Mn: Mandela Effect
The Mandela Effect is a popular culture theory of parallel universes based on the idea that, because large groups of people have similar alternative memories about past events, these collective experiences are true. In order to then explain alternative memories they deduce that the fabric of reality must have shifted at some point in the past and that therefore, not only do parallel, inhabitable universes exist, but that we are constantly switching between them. The key example of this effect (and the effect’s namesake) is that many people believe that former South African President Nelson Mandela died during his imprisonment in the 1980s. They have clear memories of his funeral and the news, yet as of the time of this writing, he is still alive. This involves potentially false memories and the Glitch In The Matrix super pattern.
Mi: Miraculous Encounter
A visitation by a supernatural being including angels, Jesus, Mother Mary or other religious figures. Examples include the visitation of Our Lady of Lourdes and Moses’ encounter at the burning bush.
